What is the 529 Club?
The 529 Club, originally established at Pinewood Studios in December 2009, is a global community for creative individuals, primarily in the Film & Media industry. It began as a way for people working at Pinewood Studios to connect and network with their colleagues and neighbors, offering them an opportunity to meet once a month and the name "529 Club" was because the clubhouse bar was open especially from 5pm to 9pm.
Over time, the 529 Club evolved into a platform that went beyond simple networking. It became a space for creative individuals to showcase their talents, share ideas, contacts, and best practices related to the Film & Media industry. The community's members, consisting of an eclectic mix of interesting and lively individuals, started identifying potential areas for collaboration.
As technology and circumstances changed, the 529 Club adapted as well. During the COVID lockdown period, the community transitioned to the Clubhouse audio app and was rebranded as the "529 Club Creatives". This transition allowed members to continue engaging with one another, even in the absence of in-person meetings. The community expanded its activities to include various initiatives such as competitions, workshops, performances, and much more.
The 529 Club Creatives has grown significantly over the years, boasting a membership of over 10,000 individuals from around the world. It remains a valuable resource and platform for creative professionals within the Film & Media industry to connect, support, collaborate, and share their work and ideas.
